Scope and privacy summary
This policy applies to GetSTDTest.com. The current site is an educational publication: it has no accounts, forms, checkout, marketing email list, advertising pixels, session-replay software, chat recorder, or cross-site behavioral advertising. Optional Google Analytics is disabled until a visitor affirmatively accepts analytics cookies. We do not ask visitors to create a health profile.
Information we intentionally avoid
We do not ask you to submit symptoms, test results, sexual history, insurance information, medical records, precise location, or payment information through this site. Please do not send sensitive health information by email or through general website communications.
Information processed automatically
Our hosting and security infrastructure may process routine technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include an IP address, device and browser information, requested URL, referral URL, date and time, approximate region derived from an IP address, and security or diagnostic events.
Before you make a cookie choice, the site application does not load Google Analytics. We use browser storage only to remember whether you accepted or declined analytics. Essential hosting or security technology may process request data or set security cookies independently of that choice.
Optional Google Analytics
If you select “Accept analytics,” the site loads Google Analytics, a measurement service provided by Google. Google Analytics may process a randomly generated client identifier, visited pages, referral information, approximate location derived from an IP address, device and browser information, and interaction timestamps. It may set first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visits.
We use this information in aggregated reports to understand which pages are useful and improve the publication. Google advertising signals and ad-personalization features are disabled in our site configuration. We do not send names, email addresses, submitted health information, or account identifiers because the site does not collect those items.
How information is used
- Deliver requested pages and maintain site reliability.
- Prevent abuse, investigate security events, and diagnose errors.
- Measure page usage and improve content when a visitor accepts optional analytics.
- Measure affiliate referrals only after an approved program link is activated and the relevant disclosure is updated.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of visitors, the site, and others.
When information may be disclosed
Routine technical information may be processed by service providers that host, secure, or maintain the site under their applicable terms. If analytics is accepted, Google processes the analytics information described above as our measurement provider under its applicable terms. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, prevent fraud or harm, protect legal rights, or complete a business transfer. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
External links and affiliate measurement
Links may take you to testing providers and other independent websites. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own policies. If GetSTDTest.com is approved for an affiliate program, some outgoing links may later include a referral identifier, and the destination may use its own cookie or similar technology to attribute a purchase. We will update this policy and the nearby affiliate disclosure before activating tracked links.
Tracking preferences
You can accept or decline Google Analytics in the consent banner and change the choice later through “Cookie settings” in the footer. Declining does not limit access to the site. If Global Privacy Control is enabled in your browser, we treat it as a decline for optional analytics. Because “Do Not Track” is not a consistently implemented standard, it does not separately change site behavior; the site’s own analytics choice remains available.
GetSTDTest.com does not use analytics information for targeted advertising and does not knowingly permit cross-site behavioral profiling through the current site.
Retention and security
GetSTDTest.com does not maintain user accounts, submitted health histories, or customer purchase records. Hosting and security providers may retain technical logs for operational, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes according to their retention practices. We use encrypted HTTPS connections and take reasonable administrative and technical steps appropriate to the limited information handled, but no online service can promise absolute security.
Children
This general educational site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information may contact us.
California and other privacy requests
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to appeal certain decisions. GetSTDTest.com does not currently represent that it meets the business thresholds that make every provision of the California Consumer Privacy Act applicable. We will nevertheless review a privacy request concerning information we control. Because the site does not maintain visitor accounts or submissions, we may have little or no information that can reasonably be linked to a requester.
Contact us
For privacy questions or requests, email postmaster@getstdtest.com. Please state “Privacy Request” in the subject line and do not include sensitive health information. We may request limited information needed to understand, verify, and respond to the request.
Changes to this policy
We will post material changes on this page and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects how previously collected personal information is used, we will provide notice and obtain consent when required by law.
